The National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) is designed specifically for junior high school students (grades 6-9). In 1989, the National Art Education Association began the National Junior Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art and to generate interest in art programs at the secondary levels and beyond.
WHAT DO WE DO IN NJAHS?
- CREATE ART WITH PEERS
- CREATE ART OR HOLD EVENTS TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH ART
- HOLD EVENTS TO FUND RAISE TO BE A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SOCIETY
- GO ON FIELD TRIPS TO IMMERSE STUDENTS IN THE ART WORLD
REGULATIONS:
How many Thursday meetings can a member miss?
Members may only miss 3 THURSDAY MEETINGS PER SEMESTER
- There are 16 total meetings (8 per semester)
How many events for service or fundraising can a member miss?
Members may only miss 2 EVENTS FOR THE YEAR BUT STUDENT MUST HELP OUT GROUP GET READY FOR THE EVENT BEFOREHAND
- There are 4 events total (2 events per semester)
